1. Mediastinum

   • SUPERIOR = Triangle - Manubrium & T1-T4
   • INFERIOR = T5 to Diaphragm
     • ANTERIOR
     • MIDDLE = Contains Heart
     • POSTERIOR
   • Heart Location
     • 2/3 Left Side
     • Apex @ 5th Intercostal space @ MCL
     • Anterior, deep to sternum. 3-5 Costal cartilage
   • Space b/w 2 pleural cavities & contains thoracic viscera except the lungs

2. LAYERS

   • PERICARDIUM
     • 1. FIBROUS
       • Dence CT fused to diaphragm & Tunica Adventitia
     • 2. PARIETAL
       • Serious Pericardium. Simple squamous epithelium
         • Reflected back to 3.
     • 3. VISCERAL
