   • NUMERICAl
   • ALPHANUMERICAL
   • AUDIOVISUAL
   • PHYSICAL

4. How does it work?

   • 1st. Data enters the computer though an INPUT device ---> to the RAM
     • 2nd. It is processed, following some steps that a program told him.
       • 3rd. transforms the information, that is being stored in the RAM.
         • 4th. The final results = Info. is displayed through an output device.

5. How is it stored?

   • The results are kept in the RAM.
     • VARIABLES
       • It is the address for a particular place in the RAM.
         • Where we can save values for some time, without changing.
     • CONSTANTS
       • It is an address for a particular place in the RAM
         • that will NEVER change

6. How to name the Variables & Constants

   • ONLY letters-numbers-underscore
     • MUST start with a letter
       • MUST be related to what they keep
         • No more than 255 characters

7. Types

   • Simple
     • Numeric
       • Work with -- or + # with no decimals = INTEGERS
         • And also with # with decimals = REAL
     • Logic
       • Boolean
         • TRUE or FALSE
     • Alphanumeric
       • Character=only one character
         • String=combine data: letters, numbers,
           • special symbols, and have to be between ""
         • or special symbol
   • Complex

8. Space

   • Boolean=1 Byte
     • Double=8 Byte
       • Float=4 Byte
         • Int=4 Byte
           • Long=8 Byte
             • Short=2 Byte
               • Byte=8 Bits
                 • 1 Byte per character

9. How to give value to

   • variables & constants
   • We use the assignment operation
     • =
       • <----
     • left side of the <---, goes the value of the variable
       • right side of the <---, goes the value given to the variable
