Input and output devices
Input (The device that sends a signal to make something happen in the computer)
- Microphone
- Keyboard
- Mouse
- Controller
- Touchscreen
- Motion Detector
- Scanner
Output (The device that receives a signal and displays it in a certain way).
- Speaker
- Headphones
- Screen/ monitor
- Printer
Storage (The device that stores information in a computer).
- Memory stick
- Hard drive
- Why is it needed?
- It handles the reading, writing, and storage of the stored data on the number of hard disk used. The hard drive is a high capacity, self contained sealed storage unit.
- Optical storage
- Why is it needed?
- Optical storage is needed to transfer storage easily in the form of a DVD, CD, BD-R, etc.
- Why is it needed?
- Magnetic storage.
- Why is it needed?
- Magnetic storage media and devices store data in the form of tiny magnetic dots. These dots are read and erased using magnetic fields created by very tiny magnets. Magnetic storage devices are ; Hard disk , Floppy disk, Magnetic tape etc.
- Why is it needed?
- Solid state storage
- Why is it needed?
- SSS is great because it's much more durable than any other type of storage due to the fact it's parts don't move.

- Why is it needed?
- The cloud
- SD Card
- Motherboard
- RAM
- Why is it needed
- RAM is a volatile memory and requires power to keep the data accessible. If the computer is turned off, all data contained in RAM is lost.

Processing
- CPU (Central Processing Unit)
- This is the so-called 'brains of the computer'. It will receive the input message and convert it to make the output device use it.
