Animal and Plants Cells

Animal Cell

The PINK CIRCLE is the Nucleus controls all the cells functions. Contains GENETIC MATERIAL-DNA in chromosomes

The BLUE CIRCLES are the ribosomes. These are tiny organelles the synthesise to make proteins from amino acids

THE RED OVALS are the mitochondria. They use glucose in respiration to release energy for the cell

THE INNER PINK is the cytoplasm it is the watery substance in which chemical reactions takes place. These reactions are catalysed by enymes

Plant Cell

THE PALE GREEN SAP is the vacuole. Contains sugars, salts and water. When the vacuole is full it actually supports the cell(making it a good thing)

THE GREEN OVALS are chloroplasts. These are tiny organelles, which contain a green pigment, chlorophyll. This used for photosynthesis, absorbing the suns light energy for glucose (as food)

THE GREEN OUTERLAYER is the cell wall (is not in animal cell) it is made of cellulose supports the cell and strengthens it as plant cells are more fragile
