- CIRCULATORY SYSTEM:
- oxygen from lungs to all body parts
- carbon dioxide from all body parts to lungs
- nutrients from gut to all body parts
- urea from liver to kidneys
- Circulatory system in animals:
- single circulatory system - heart to gas exchange organ to rest of the body
- double circulatory system - heart to gas exchange organ back to heart then rest of the body
- Heart:
- 4 chambers
- upper 2 receivers - atrium
- lower 2 are pumpers - ventricles
- divided into 2 parts
- right side - deoxygenated blood
- left side - oxygenated blood
- vena cava is the largest vein
- it brings deoxygenated blood from the rest of the body to the heart
- deoxyenated blood enters the atrium
- right atrium has a trapdoor - tricuspid valve
