Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela was a South African anti-apartheid revolutionary, statesman and philanthropist who served as President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999. He was born on18th July 1918 and died on 5th December 2015. He was the country's first black head of state and the first elected in a fully representative democratic election. His government focused on dismantling the legacy of apartheid by tackling institutionalised racism and fostering racial reconciliation. Ideologically an African nationalist and socialist, he served as the president of the African National Congress (ANC) party from 1991 to 1997. Apartheid refers to the official policy of racial separation and ill-treatment of blacks followed by the white government of South Africa between 1948 and 1989. This practice of racial discrimination remained for the longest period in South Africa. Hendrik Verwoerd s the first person to start it in South Africa. Nelson Mandela spent his childhood Qunu and later moved to Mqhekezweni after his father died. He was the first one to get a formal education and was a athlete in school. Mandela was born in a Royal Family.
Conclusion:
Nelson Mandela strongly believes in democracy, equality and learning. Despite being repeatedly provoked, he never answered racism with racism. He has always been an inspiration, in South Africa and to the world, to all who opposed deprivation & oppression. Mandela personifies struggle, still leads the fight against apartheid with extraordinary vigor and resilience after spending close to three decades in prison. For his people, he sacrificed his personal life and his youth, and is South Africa’s loved hero.
