Introduction
Abu Ja'far Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi was a Persian scholar during the Islamic Golden Age. During this period Europe was 'asleep' in The Dark Ages.
His contribution to mathematics was enormous; translating Greek and Hindu texts on geometry and astronomy, popularising the Hindu-Arabic numeral system used throughout the world today and his great book
