- Atom are everywhere,
- Atoms are made of a nucleus that are composed by protons and neutrons and they are surrounded by really fast electrons.
- protons(+)
- electrons(-)
- neutrons(o)
- protons pull electrons in, but the electrons are really fast to compact. neutrons don't have a charge, but why is it important, its important because they keep the atom together.
- protons and electrons got the same number of charges
- 7 atomic mass= number of protons + neutrons
- LI lithium
- 3 atomic number= number proton and electrons
- lithium atomic mass 3 protons, 3 electrons and 4 neutrons
- Caption: basic atomic structure and facts
-
isotopes and electronic configuration
- Isotopes are different atoms of an element with the same number of protons an electrons ,but different numbers of neutrons.
- ________________________________________________________________
- this will always tell us how many electrons are in each shell
- Na= sodium =2.8.1 atomic number =11 group number
- the first shell always got 2 electrons and including the second shell and onward they can hold 8 electrons.

- these atoms that have lost or gained electrons in their outer shell
