Chapter 4
Karten in diesem Stapel (13)
- 1Describe a worksheet?A large grid of cells on a single sheet
- 2Describe a workbook?A collection of more than one worksheet
- 3Describe rows and columns?Row: a range of cells that go across a spreadsheet. Column: range of cells that go down a spreadsheet
- 4Describe a cell?An individual data store, identified by a row and column indiciator
- 5Describe a range?A group of cells. A group can be given a name or just be known by their cell references.
- 6What is relative referencing? When the cell in a spreadsheet formula changes when the formula is copied to other cells
- 7What is absolute referencing? When the referenced cell needs to remain the same when the formula is copied to other cells
- 8What does modelling software allow you to do?Create a virtual representation of a item, can look at the external effects on large building, cars etc, can view things from different layers, can zoom on different parts
- 9What are the different factors of mathematical modelling?Variables & constants, what-if?, cell names, spreadsheets
- 10Why is computer modelling used?Less risky, Can be accelerated or slowed down, can backed up and shared, on one model needs to be created
- 11What are the characteristics of modelling software?variables (identifier associated with a particular cell), rules (set of procedures that must be followed), formulae (the way a calculation is represented in a spreadsheet), functions (used to represent complex formulas)
- 12What is a 'What-if' statement? An attempt to find out what is going to happen in the future. Requires values to be changed so that other values can be recalculated.
- 13What are the benefits of a 'what-if' statement?Automatic recalculation, less time & cost, errors are easier to fix and solve,
