Karten in diesem Stapel (14)
- 1What are Multicellular organisms?Living things made of many cells.
- 2Specialised meaningSome cells in multicellular organisms are modified to carry out a particular function, such as transporting a certain substance or executing a specific task. These cells are called specialized cells.
- 3Specialised animal cellsSkeletal muscle cell
Neuron (nerve cell)
Red blood cell
Sperm cell
ect - 4What is axon?Axon, also called nerve fiber, a portion of a nerve cell that carries nerve impulses away from the cell body.
- 5What is the function of the red blood cell?Red blood cells carry oxygen and nutrients to the tissues in the body and take away carbon dioxide.
- 6What are white blood cells for?Help fight infections by attacking bacteria, viruses, and germs that invade the body.
- 7Fat cellsCells composed of fat.
- 8Specialised plant cellsGuard cells, Conducting cells, Photosynthetic cells, Structural cells.
- 9What is chlorophyll?a green pigment, present in all green plants and in cyanobacteria, which is responsible for the absorption of light to provide energy for photosynthesis.
- 10Function of guard cells in plants? The opening and closing of the stomata are controlled by the guard cells.
- 11What are conducting cells for?The cells that conduct (organize) water in plants
- 12What are photosynthetic cells for?Photosynthetic cells are one of the main reasons that plants can survive. They are central to food production in the plant.
- 13What are structural cells for?Its like the skeleton of the plant, when the plants grow it becomes bigger.
- 14The endSorry it was only some flashcards didnt have enough definitions to make 20.
