FORCES
What is a force?
Either a push or pull. there are measured in Newtons (N)
Types of forces:
Gravity
Thrust
Friction
Air resistance (Drag)
Upthrust
What do forces do?
Forces effect how objects move. For example:
Start moving
Move faster
Change direction
Move slower
Stop moving
Change shape
Mass:
The amount of material measured in kilograms. This is the same anywhere in the world.
Weight:
The force which attracts the body. Measured in Newtons. This is caused by the pull of gravity.
On Earth 1 kg = 10N
Weight = Mass x Gravitational Strength
For Every Force There Is An Equal Opposite Force Called Resultant Forces
If an object in stationary and has no resultant force on it the object will continue to stay stationary
If an object is stationary and a resultant force acts on it the object will accelerate in the direction of resultant force
I f an object is already moving and no resultant force acts on it the object will continue to move at the same speed and the same direction
velocity:
Speed with a given direction
Acceleration:
Id how quickly something is speeding up. example- how quickly velocity is changing
