1. Magnetic Storage

   • HDD
     • Internal Storage
     • stack of magnetised metal disks
     • stored magnetically in small areas called sectors within the circular tracks.
   • Magnetic Disk Tape
     • Used For Archiving
     • Cheap
     • Used by large organisations who have large amounts of data to store
     • Greater Storage tham HDD

2. Optical Media

   • Optical Disk
     • Stored in DVD, Blu-ray and CD
     • 3 Forms: Read, Write and Rewritable
     • Disadvantage:Poor speed and can get scratched
     • Advantage: Cheap and Portable
   • Cloud Storage
     • Stores and back up data on the internet
     • Advantage: Secure from fires, used anywhere with internet
     • Disadvantage: Needs the internet, less in control with other companies

3. Flash Memory

   • SSD
     • No moving parts
     • Faster read/write time than HDD
     • Stored In USB
