1. Thoreau starts acting wild to feel connected with nature, He goes on a spiritual journey to reflect and imitate nature itself

2. Poets and philosophers study nature so "she" doesn't show her real self to them

3. Humans hunt for survival but after hunting as well Thoreau has come up with an alternative (vegetarianism) that doesn't hurt nature or the hunter's feelings

   • No man likes to kill but they will to survive

4. Water is the only drink befitting of anyone because Thoreau doesn't like luxury goods

5. With years Thoreau is indifferent to religion but firmly believes in a higher order in humans

   • Humans can not be entirely pure because we all have an aggressive animalistic side that is unclean. Kind things can give us energy for purity but living freely gives us impure energy.
   • Humans are "creatures of appetite", you can tell if someone is pure or impure by their demeanor.
     • Can overcome nature's prophecy for humans by working hard

6. People should be free to practice whatever religion they want to because every religion is heathen-like to another
