   • Enables users to work and carry out tasks on their computer.

4. Configuring software

   • Software that enables users to customise their computer to their own needs, such as personal settings.

5. Updates

   • Software updates add functions and can work to improve a system, such as fixing 'bugs'. Software updates can be done manually or automatically, and are especially important for anti-malware systems, as they need to maintain a constant database of viruses and other harmful programs.
