1. benefits

   • can create graphs and charts
   • it can calculate complex equations
   • automatic recalculations
     • this means once as you change a number in the equation it will recalculate it to produce the new answer
   • can make no mistakes GIGO still applies
     • unless the person typed the numbers or equation in incorrectly
   • add borders
   • change information to make and test predictions

2. formatting

   • its made up of cells
     • these cells have a letter and a number
       • number for rows
       • letters for coloums
         • e.g A8
   • cells can be merged
   • font can be changed
   • background fill tool can change colour of cells

3. formulas

   • sum
     • =A1+B1
   • subtract
     • =A1-B1
   • divide
     • =A1/B1
   • multiplies
     • =A1*B1
   • replicate: if you drag it can copy formulas but to the correct cells
     • if you put a dollar sign infront of the cell in the formula
   • =SUM(A1:E1)
   • =AVERAGE(A1:E1)
   • =IF(A1>49,"Pass","fail")
   • =MIN(A1:E1)
   • =MAX(A1:E1)
