1. First Law: Law of Segregation

   • Inherited Characteristics controlled by pairs of alleles
   • Alleles separate when gamete is formed
     • One allele is carried in each gamete

2. Second Law: Law of independent assortment

   • When gametes are formed both members of a pair of alleles can recombine with another pair of an allele

3. Gregor Mendel Father of Genetics

   • Worked mainly on Garden Pea Plants, Work led to two laws

4. Two Types of Crosses

   • Monohybrid: one characterastic, hair colour
   • Dihybrid: Two charactertic's, Colour and length
