1. Construction Drawings

   • Location Plan
     • Identifies the location of the proposed new building
     • Scale - 1:1250
     • Direction arrow: north
   • Site Plan
     • Shows site boundary
     • Scale - 1:200
   • Floor Plan
     • A type of sectional view
     • Arrangement of rooms
     • Scale - 1:50
   • Building Symbols
     • Graphics - Symbols

2. Sections, Assemblies and Exploded Views

   • Cutting Planes
     • Where the object has been sliced
     • Direction of viewing is indicated by the arrows
   • Sectional View
     • Part of the object behind the arrows is removed and the sectional view is left
   • Cross-Hatching
     • Section is cross-hatched at 45 degrees, with the lines 5mm apart
   • Exploded Views
     • Parts should be exploded along an axis or plane that connects them
     • Should be a clear space between each part

3. Pictorial Drawing Techniques

   • Isometric
     • Project back a 30 degrees on both sides
   • Planometric
     • Project back at 45 degrees
       • Or 30 degrees
         • Or 60 degrees
     • Drawing is usually inside a box
   • Oblique
     • Project back at 45 degrees
