1. Act 5, Scene 8

   • 'I will not yield, to kiss the ground before young Malcomes feet.'
     • this is suggesting that Macbeth isn't going to give up and surrender so he is going to put up a fight.
     • Macbeth is saying here that he will not do what Malcom whats him to do and he doesnt want him to be the king.
   • 'I will not fight with thee'
     • Macbeth is suggesting that now he knows macduff is not woman born he could be killed by him.
     • he has realised that if he fights with macduff then he can actually kill him because he isn't woman born.

2. Act 1, Scene 1

   • 'but alls too weak for brave Macbeth'
     • Duncan is talking to the captain about how Macbeth has killed two of the main enemies in the war
     • Duncan hints that Macbeth will be the next train of Cawdor
   • 'worthy gentelman'
     • Duncan is telling everybody how proud he is of Macbeth
     • this suggests that Duncan has great plans for Macbeth

3. Act 1, Scene 5

   • 'look like the innocent flower but be the surpent under't'
     • lady macbeth starts to take control of the situation
     • she is telling him what to do and this is when we see the first change in Macbeth because he isn't in control
   • 'too full of the milk of human kindness to catch the nearest way'
     • lady Macbeth says that Macbeth is too pure and is too nice to be capable to do what lady Macbeth dreams of him doing.
     • Lady Macbeth fears that Macbeth is too pure and innocent to do what he must do to become king

4. Act 4, Scene 1

   • 'however you come to know it-answer me!'
     • Macbeth has now changed from being a strong independent man to needing the help of the witched and lady Macbeth
     • Macbeth is feeling weak and needs the help of the 3 witches to tell him what happens to him next.
   • 'call 'em. lets see 'em.
     • in this scene Macbeth looks quite desperate and clearly needs the help off the 3 witches
     • Macbeth is demanding that the witches show him his future.
