1. CHAPTER 37

   • Emma decides that she is not in love with Frank, Frank moves closer to Highbury, the ball's date is set

2. CHAPTER 38

   • The day of the ball, everyone is there early, Frank overly excited - man of pleasure, Mrs Elton believes that she should bhave the first dance. Emma admires Mr K. Mr E refuses to dance with H, K steps in

3. CHAPTER 39

   • Frank rescues Harriet from the gypsies,

4. CHAPTER 41

   • Mr K acuity = jane and frank, word game = blunder

5. CHAPTER 42

   • Mr K jokes about an outing at Donwell Abbey, Emma overhears about Jane's governess situation that Mrs Elton has found her

6. CHAPTER 43

   • Box Hill, Mr and Mrs Elton keep to themselves, Frank is excessively gallant and lively, Emma is rude to Miss Bates, Mr K tells Emma about herself.

7. CHAPTER 44

   • Emma goes to the Bates to make up, she is overly kind and understanding, Jane is in the room with a headache, Jane has accepted the governess position, Emma is ashamed of her rumours spread about Jane.

8. CHAPTER 45

   • Knighlety is leaving for London, doesn't;t kiss Emma on the hand, the next day Mrs Churchill dies, jane is avoiding emma.

9. CHAPTER 46

   • Mr W asscorts Emma to Mrs W with important news, Jane and Frank have been engaged, Emma is shocked and embarrassed, Emma convinces Mrs W that she no feelings for him.

10. CHAPTER 47

    • Emma is concerned for Harriet, misunderstanding between who they were talking about is resolved , very tense.

11. CHAPTER 48

    • Emma fancies Mr K, understands why Jane was ill, Emma expresses her anger about Frank to Mrs Weston, Mrs W defends him

12. CHAPTER 49

    • Emma and Mr K chat, she never loved Frank, K declares his love for Emma, they are engaged by the time their walk is finished.

13. CHAPTER 50

    • Emma thinks that she needs to postpone her engagement until her father dies, Frank 'apologies' about his actions, Jane called the engagement off because of his treatment to emma he apologise and they are back together.

14. CHAPTER 51

    • Emma forgives Frank, they decide to live at Hartfield, Emma is stressed about how it will affect Harriet.

15. CHAPTER 52

    • Harriet agrees to go to london to see the dentist, Mrs W is pregnant so Emma must delay her news Emma visits Jane but cannot speak openly (Mrs E), Mr E is annoyed that K has missed their meeting, Jane and Emma have reconciled.

16. CHAPTER 53

    • Mrs Weston has his baby, Mr J K congratulates them, Mr Woodhouse is shocked, Mrs W persuades him, Mr and Mrs E are displeased with the match.

17. CHAPTER 54

    • Harriet is to marry Robert Martin, Emma is relieved that she does not need to break the news to Harriet, Emma feels K superiority to Frank and they are back on good terms.

18. CHAPTER 55

    • Emma and Harriet reconcile , their friendship has to calm down because of their different social positions, H & R marry, Emma marries in October, Mrs W is robbed and Mr Woodhouse wants K in the house for protection, the wedding is too modest to impress Mrs Elton.

19. CHAPTER 40

    • Harriet is over Mr Elton, shows Emma the trinkets. Emma hopes Frank will take Mr Eltons place. Harriet says she never wishes to marry because the man she admires is too superior.
