1. BARRIERS

   • -Respiratory tract
   • -Gastrointestinal tract
   • -Urinogenital tract

2. INNATE DEFENCE (non-specific response)

   • Kills pathogen and surrounding cells
   • Macrophages, Neutrophils and Natural killer cells
   • Antigen presenting cells collect pathogens antigens and present them on their surface
   • Takes antigen to the lymph nodes which activate a more specific response

3. ADAPTIVE DEFENCE (specific response)

   • Targeted response
   • Lymphocytes (B & T cells)
