   • I am alone in this castle with those awful women
   • At its foot a man may sleep - a man

   • We women have something of a mother in us

4. Death

   • It was worth this to die
   • Death had given her back part of her beauty
   • Lying like Ophelia in the play
   • The soul of the women whom we loved shall again be free
   • Lucy and her mother might be buried together
   • There was a wilderness of beautiful white flowers and death was made as little repulsive as might be
   • That his so beloved was, after all, an Un-Dead
   • Had she then be killed, I could have done it with savage delight
