           • These cells have Cilia
             • that beat and move the mucus up to the trachea to the mouth
       • Some pathogens reach aveoli
         • invade cells and cause damage
   • Digestive system
     • most pathogens killed by stomach acid
     • Some survive stomach acid
       • pass into intestines
         • invade cells of the gut wall
           • Causes disease
