1. secondary storage is non volatile storage that stores data permanenetly

2. Optical

   • Advantages
     • Is more portable compared to solid state therefore you can use it in more devices such as laptops, PCs, some video games
   • Disadvantages
     • Not as durable as solid state and only has limited capacity therefore it will not be able to store as much data
   • Examples
     • CD,DVD,Blu-Ray

3. Solid state

   • Advantages
     • It can read/write much faster compared to magnetic therefore it will load data much faster
   • Disadvantages
     • Is less cost effective compared to magnetic because it has a lower capacity fro more money
   • Examples
     • USB drives, hard drives , SD card

4. Magnetic

   • Advantages
     • Is more cost effective than solid state due to it having a higher capacity (meaning you get to store more data for that price)
   • Disadvantages
     • Is less durable compared to solid state because it has more moving parts ,therefore it is more likely to break if it is dropped
   • Examples
     • Floppy disk , magnetic recording tape, and magnetic stripes on credit cards.
