1. magnetic

   • cost effective
   • larger capacity which means that is can store and save more data files and install more software
   • most likely to break if dropped because it has moving parts
     • read write data is slower compared to solid state this means that it will follow instructions less quickly compared to solid state
   • magnetic

2. solid state

   • most durable compared to magnetic
   • it is less likely to be damaged easily because it has no moving parts compared to magnetic and optical
   • it has the fastest read and write speed out of them
     • limited read write life span
   • less cost effective because
   • it is more cost effective compared to optical but is less compared to magnetic yet you could argue that if a big buisness is always busy then solid state would be mor cost effective

3. secondary storage is non-volatile storage which stores data permanently

4. optical

   • least durable
   • has the best portability compared to magnetic and solid state by being the smallest
   • most likely to break if dropped
   • not a great read and write speed
   • can be used in more devices e.g. blue ray and console
