     • The intro should define the key issue being discussed and introduce how you will address it in your essay.
   • Present what the issues with NHST are in order to outline the need for change

2. Body of the essay

   • The ways forward are where the focus of the essay should be
   • Issues such as the over-reliance on p-values, misinterpretation of the outcomes etc.
   • Consider the extent to which these issues are the fault of the method, or the fault of the researcher.
   • Discuss alternative and complementary statistics which may help us to remedy some of the issues presented in the first part of the essay.
     • incorporate some of the literature supporting such approaches (e.g. confidence intervals, effect sizes etc.) and show a clear understanding of the advantages these approaches provide.
