Cognitive Interview

1. 1) Report everything

   • Witnesses are encouraged to share all details they can remember from the incident, no matter how irrelevant it may seem

2. 2) Recreate context

   • This may not involve having to return to the scene of the incident, but can involve recalling an image of the setting which includes things such as weather, feelings, smells and nearby people

3. 3) Change perspectives

   • Asked to recall the incident from the perspective of another person that was present

4. 4) Recall the event in different orders
