1. formed through practice and frequent, honest self-examination leads to sincere repentance

2. Go to reconciliation

   • contrition
   • purpose of amendment

3. when ignored eventually goes numb due to wrongdoing and ceases to function as it should

4. clear awareness that every Baptism calls you to become a saint

5. spiritual direciton

   • the counsel of some wise person who can advise us on progress of our spiritual
     • lives. someone who will challenge us to live the steps and direct us

6. moral act- choice between good/evil

   • moral content
   • personal act= intellect / will, never leaves exactly the same

7. Witnessed both in sacred scriptures and human experience

   • duty to exercise our moral conscience
   • applies moral truth, does not create it not an infallible guide and can be ignorant/blinded
