1. CPU cache

   • Computer Processing Unit
   • fetches an instruction then executes it billions of times per second
   • Primary Storage
     • where the instructions that the CPU fetches and executes are stored
     • Very fast - millions of instructions can be read every second
     • It's volatile: only stores data when the power is on
     • RAM, Cache

2. Secondary Storage

   • Stores programs and data when the computer is powered off
   • Non-volatile - stores data when power is off
   • Slower than primary storage

3. PORTABLE

   • SSD
   • Memory stick
   • Hard drive
