3. Hunter Gatherers
4. Also known as mordern humans
5. Taller than Neanderthals
Homo Neanderthals
1. Became extinct because they could not compete with the Homo sapiens
2. Were named after the Neander Valley in Germany where their fossils were first discovered in 1856
3. Were already living in Europe and parts of Asia since 350,000 BC
4. Were physically distinct from Homo Sapiens
Hunter Gatherers
1. Early human lifestyle
2. Lived in relatively small groups of about 10-30 people.
3. Our ancestors were all hunter gatherers until 10,000 BC
4. Men would hunt for small and large game.
5. Women and children would hunt for fruits and berries.
6. A hunter gatherer lifestyle requires an extensive geographical area and, once the food supply in the area exhausted, forces the group to move to another area
Migration
