1. Command Line

   • CLI
   • Advantages
     • allows access to whole system
     • complex commands can be used
     • repetitive commands can be used to carry out sequences of tasks
   • Disadvantages
     • Not easy to use
     • need to know details of the commands and how they work
     • accès to whole sys = mistakes + damages

2. Graphical User interface

   • GUI
   • Advantages
     • don't need much knowledge
     • easy to use
     • don't need to know commands
     • images = apps
     • restricts user access to sys
   • Disadvantages
     • doesn't access whole sys
     • needs large amount of main memory
     • needs more processing power than CLI

3. Features - good UI

   • logical
     • tools - buttons for navi
   • options + tools in logical + sensible order
   • colour + size of window, text, images = similar
   • sensible amount of info on screen
