Maze Runner

  1. PEGI

    • Target Audience
      • The target audience for the game is 11 to 16
      • There is no violence in the game at all which makes it even more suitable for the target audience.
    • The PEGI rating for the game will be a 7 as the game needs to be for ages 11 to 16. Because of this the PEGI rating can not be a 12 as the minimum age must be an 11, so the next one down is PEGI 7. In the game there will be very minimal violence and no swearing which is perfect for the target audience of 7 as it is not over the top.
  2. Promotional Video

  3. Storyline

    • The Game starts off in the start screen with 3 buttons Play, Options, and exit. You will go into options to view the controls and the storyline to understand the game. Once you have done this the player will advance onto the game by clicking the play button which will take them into the first room of the game. Throughout the game you will only need to collect two keys in each of the rooms (one in each room). As you collect these keys it will destroy the barriers leading to the last room ( the artefact room) which means you can complete the game.
    • The Ollerton sisters are the best detectives of the 1890s. One morning after breakfast, they were occupied in their daily ritual, Katherine reading the newspaper, whilst Clarissa was attempting a crossword. Suddenly, Katherine looked up with delight and fascination. “Rupert Hulsey has gone missing from Stonebroom Hall. His whole collection of ancient Egyptian artefacts has gone as well. The police are baffled.” Can you help the Ollerton sisters solve the mystery of Stonebroom Hall?
  4. Game

    • Sprites
      • Characters
      • Rooms
        • Setting
          • In a certain house or museum where the artefacts are hidden
    • Controls
      • The player will move forwards and backwards with the arrow buttons on the keyboard. The up arrow will be for moving forwards and the down arrow will be used for moving backwards. The Arrow buttons will be used as they are ergonomic for your hand and you will not need to explain how to use the controls as it is obvious. Rather than using other buttons on the keyboard such as WASD, the arrow keys are much easier to use. This will also be the same for going left and right, to go right you will use the right arrow key and to go left you will use the left arrow key. Another button that will be used is escape which quits the game.
    • I Intend to make the game harder as it is for 11 to 16 year olds but I will start it off by making the game easy then I will make it harder towards the end once I have completed all other necessary work and after the questionnaire.
  5. Designs/Style

    • The art style of the of the game will be in a pixelated style so I intend to make the sprites in an area of 32x32 which makes them simple, easy to see and recognise. The game will also be top down rather than something like a side-scroller as it is a lot easier for the game I am making. In a detective game it would be very hard to make a side scroller and the game would be a lot easier for the target audience to complete if it is top down as it is simple to see everything.
