Combining sentences	Sentences may be combined by using the following: a) Subordinate clauses b) Conjunctions c) Semi-colon
Suffix	A suffix is added to the end of a root word to create a new word.
Prefix	A prefix is added to the beginning of a root word to create a new word.
Noun as object of the verb	The object of a verb is a receiver of the action of the verb. Example: He placed the book in the drawer. The noun "book is the object of the verb "placed". It is the object because it is what is being "placed".
Noun as object of the preposition	The object of a preposition is the noun that follows the preposition in a phrase. Example: The girls of the sixth grade put on a play. The noun "grade" is the object of the preposition "of".
Noun clause	A subordinate clause that acts as a noun in a sentence. It may act as subject or object of a verb or object of a preposition.
Noun clause as subject of a sentence	Whoever wins the race will claim the prize.
Noun clause as object of a verb	The students didn't know where the meeting was.
Noun clause as object of a preposition	The teacher was pleased by how well the students were doing.
