Use of the Present Continuous

Present Continuous

• Use the present continuous for an action happening at the moment or a break in a routine. We also use it to describe long processes in progress that aren't necessarily happening right now.
• Use the present of Be and the present participle
• [am/is/are + present participle]
• I am studying.
• You are working.
• He/ she is reading.
• It is raining.
• We are listening to the radio.
• You are studying.
• They are watching TV.

First person singular

• 
• I am cooking.
• I am not cooking.
• Am I cooking? Yes, I am. / No, I'm not.
• Caption: I'm a chef.

Third person singular

• 
• He is working.
• He's not working.
• Is he working? Yes, he is. / No, she isn't.
• Caption: He is an architect.

Third person singular

• 
• She is sleeping.
• She isn't sleeping.
• Is she sleeping? Yes, she is. / No, she isn't.
• Caption: She likes to sleep.

Third person singular

• The baby is reading the newspaper.
