2Every piece of [blank_start]hardware[blank_end] connected the the computer system require a [blank_start]device driver[blank_end]. Drivers act as "[blank_start]translators[blank_end]" for the signals between the OS and [blank_start]hardware[blank_end]
- Atranslators

13When an application is [blank_start]opened[blank_end], the OS moves the [blank_start]necessary[blank_end] parts of the application to [blank_start]memory[blank_end], followed by additional parts when they're [blank_start]required[blank_end]. The OS will device if applications or features jade been used recently – if not, they may be [blank_start]removed[blank_end] from memory
- Aopened
- Bnecessary
- Cmemory
- Drequired
- Eremoved
14To run [blank_start]multiple[blank_end] applications, the OS needs to make sure that the applications don't [blank_start]overwrite[blank_end] or interfere with each other. A memory [blank_start]manager[blank_end] allocates certain applications certain memory [blank_start]addresses[blank_end], to make sure their processes are placed in [blank_start]separate[blank_end] locations.
- Amultiple
- Boverwrite
- Cmanager
- Daddresses
- Eseparate
15Only [blank_start]one[blank_end] application is processed by the CPU at a time, so the other processes must [blank_start]wait[blank_end]. The OS [blank_start]divides[blank_end] [blank_start]CPU[blank_end] time between [blank_start]open[blank_end] applications and may [blank_start]prioritise[blank_end] certain processes in order for instructions to be executed in the most [blank_start]efficient[blank_end] order.
- Aone
- Bwait
- Cdivides
- DCPU
- Eopen
- Fprioritise
- Gefficient
16What do file extensions such as .jpg, .mp3, .mpeg tell the computer?
- AThe type of file stored there
- BWhere is should open the file
- CHow the file was made
17File [blank_start]management[blank_end] is the movement of data into a usable [blank_start]hierarchy[blank_end] structure. It also deals with [blank_start]movement[blank_end], [blank_start]editing[blank_end] and [blank_start]deletion[blank_end] of data.
- Amanagement
- Bhierarchy
- Cmovement
- Dediting
- Edeletion
18The OS manages the hard disk by splitting the physical disk into storage [blank_start]sectors[blank_end], deciding which sectors to [blank_start]write[blank_end] data to, and keeps track of [blank_start]free[blank_end] space on the disk.
- Asectors
- Bwrite
- Cfree
