Flashcards
The Matter and its properties
Cards in this deck (11)
- 1MatterIt is everything that has mass and volume
- 2SubstanceIt is each one of the different matter types
- 3There are two kinds of properties of the matter:General and specific properties
- 4What's the mass of a body?It is the quantity of matter that the body has.
- 5Volume of a bodyIt is the space that occupies that body.
- 6The general properties are those that...... all matter shares and allows us to recognize matter.
- 7Specific properties are those that...... allow us to differentiate some materials from others.
- 8Give some examples of specific porperties:The colour, the shine, the size, the form, the hardness, the density, the elasticity, etc.
- 9What's a magnitude? It is any property of matter that you can measure, for example: the weight, the length, the temperature, time, the speed, etc.
- 10What's measuring?It is comparing a magnitude with the unit, for example: 3 kg, 2 m, 50 km/h, etc.
