Cards in this deck (5)
- 1Vulnerability testing- Is a test to see the vulnerabilities in a network or system however this does not cause any real damage.Intrusion detection system- Software which monitors network or system activities for unexpected or malicious nativities.
- 2Intrusion prevention system-Software that examines network traffic flows to detect and prevent vulnerability exploits.Penetration testing- A software tool that tests a computer system/network to find vulnerabilities that could be exploited by an attacker.
- 3Fuzzing- A method that is used to test the security of softwareSecurity functionality-The security-related features, functions, mechanisms, services, procedures, and architectures implemented within organisational information systems or the environments in which those systems operate.
- 4Sandboxing: This is a security method for serpertating running programs on a computer system/network. It is often used to run untested code, or untrusted program from unknown sources such as suppliers, untrusted users and untrusted websites. ,IDS is used to find and detect when a hack or incident happens. It is not designed to stop an incident, just find out when it has happend.
- 5Anomaly based- Software what is designed to detect computer intrusion sand misuse by monitoring system activity and classifying it as either normal or anomalous.Fuzzing or fuzz testing is an automated software testing technique that involves providing invalid, unexpected, or random data as inputs to a computer program. The program is then monitored for exceptions such as crashes, or failing built-in code assertions or for finding potential memory leaks.
