- 2What does SMTP do?The interet standard used for sendin messages across IP networks in server-to-server transfers. Also used by E-Mail users to send a message to an E-Mail server.
- 3What does POP3 stand for?Post Office Protocol
- 4What does POP3 do?Used to retreieve E-Mails from an email server over a TCP/IP conection. This is the most widely used email retreival protocol. Normally users download emails to their local computer using POP3, deleting them from the email server.
- 5What are the disadvanatges of POP3?You can only access your emails from one device.
- 6What are the advantages of POP3?It is very efficient. It was invented a while ago but still works today.
It is unhackable unless the person hacking you accesses your device. - 7What does IMAP stand for?Internet Message Access Protocol
