Sam Wallace Physics A level English 10 cards

Cards in this deck (10)

  1. 1Define Electric Field StrengthThe Force per unit Charge on a small positive test charge at that point in the field. Vector Quantity
  2. 2Why is potential divide by r not r^2?Because potential is work done to move object. Work done = Fxd and The force is r^2
  3. 3Define Electric potentialWork done per unit positive charge to move a positive charge from infinity to that point in the field.
  4. 4How to calculate escape velocity?Set Ek to Equal Gravitational potential. The kinetic energy has to overcome this potential. Solve from there,
  5. 5Why do rockets not need to achieve escape velocity?Add energy/fuel during flight. Do not fully escape the earths gravitational pull
  6. 6What is escape velocity.Velocity needed to escape earths gravitational field from surface without additional energy.
  7. 7What are equipotentials always perpendicular to?The electric field lines.
  8. 8What is an equipotential?A line at which a charge can move along without any work being done. As potential is constant.
  9. 9Prove T^2 proportional to r^3T ^2= (2πr)^2/v^2 as Orbit, centripetal acceleration = Magnitude of Field. V^2/r = GM/r^2. v^2 = GM/r. 2πr/GM/r == 4π r^3
