Do not pass the sign if trains are approaching.
- 5What does a "No Refuges" sign mean?There are no positions of safety or refuges on this side of the railway for the length of the structure however there are on the opposite side of the railway line.
- 6When would you move out of a position of safety?When safe to do so and no other trains are approaching.
- 7Where would you find Track Circuit Operating Clips stored and what do they do?Found in driving cabs.
Short circuit the two running rails together and force the signal controlling the section to display a red aspect.
Indicates section occupied in the controlling signal box. - 8How would you stop a train in an emergency?Red flag
