BEGINNING
BENEFITS
Interaction with services is decoupled.
May involve business processes that become interoperable services.
Clients and other services can access local services that run at the same level.
Clients and other services access remote services over a connecting network.
These services can use a range of protocols and data formats to communicate information.
The services are autonomous. Each SOA service is independently maintained, developed, installed, and versioned.
The services are distributable. SOA services can be located anywhere on the network, locally or remotely as long as the network supports the required communication protocols.
Services are decoupled. Each SOA service is independent of the others and can be replaced or updated without breaking with the applications that consume it as long as the interface remains compatible.
The services share schemes and non-class contracts. SOA services share contracts and schemas when they communicate, not inner classes.
Alignment with the Dominion. The reuse of common services with standard interfaces increases business opportunities and reduces costs.
Abstraction. The services are autonomous and are accessed through a formal contract, which provides decoupling and abstraction.
Discovery Capacity. Services can expose descriptions that allow other applications and services to locate them and automatically determine the interface.
