1. Act 1

2. Act 2

3. Act 4

       • represents: no harm will be done by a woman-born person

       • represents: no danger to Macbeth until the forest marches

4. Act 3

   • Macbeth plans Banquo's death
   • Banquo is killed but his son, Fleance, escapes
   • Lennox is suspicious of Macbeth

5. Act 5

   • Lady Macbeth is going crazy
     • leads to her suicide
   • Lennox and Macduff start a rebellion against Macbeth
     • disguise their soldiers using the branches from the forest
       • march toward Macbeth's castle
   • Macduff kills Macbeth
     • becomes king
