1. What is it?

   • A parabola is a curve where any point is at an equal distance from: a fixed point (the focus ), and a fixed straight line (the directrix ).

2. What is the vertex?

   • The vertex is where the parabola makes its sharpest turn, is halfway between the focus and directrix.

3. Parabolas axis

   • The axis of symmetry of a parabola is a vertical line that divides the parabola into two congruent halves.

4. What is the equation for parabolas?

   • The standard form is (x - h)2 = 4p (y - k)
