Systematic vs Random Effects
There are two widely used methods to quantify the uncertainty of a measurement
- Calibration laboratories
- scientific institutions
The GUM method involves first considering all of the influences which might affect the measurement result
‘Law of Propagation of Uncertainty
reference calibrated 25 or more times and then consider variation and bias in results
repeatability study outside of MSA
statistical technique called ANOVA is then used to determine how much variation
the measurement process is maintained as a black box
Two important concepts in MSA
- precision
