   • Macbeth and Banquo fight against Macdinald bravely
     • Captain reports the battle between Norway and Scotland
       • Duncan gives the Thane of Cawdor's title to Macbeth

3. Scene 3

   • Witches cause chaos
     • Banquo and Macbeth meet witches
       • Macbeth becomes Thane of Cawdor

4. Scene 4

   • Recognition of Macbeth and Banquo's contribution to the war by King Duncan
     • Declaration of Malcolm's succession to the throne
       • Plotting of killing Malcolm

5. Scene 5

   • Informed of promotion and meeting of witches by Macbeth to Lady Macbeth
     • Decision made by Lady Macbeth to manipulate Macbeth to fulfil the prophecy of kingship
       • Instruction to Macbeth to leave the murder plot to Lady Macbeth

6. Scene 6

   • King Duncan and Banquo arrives at Macbeth's castle
     • Lady Macbeth lets them in

7. Scene 7

   • Macbeth has a dilemma to kill King Duncan
     • Lady Macbeth taunts Macbeth's masculinity to convince him to follow the plan
       • Macbeth becomes bent on killing King Duncan
