PRESENT SIMPLE AND PRESENT CONTINOUS.

  1. PRESENT SIMPLE.

    • It is used to talk about common situations.
    • The Simple Present is also used to express a fact, feature, or something that is usually always true.
    • To conjugate the present simple use the inifinitivo for subjects "I", "you", "we" and "they" and another for "he", "she" and "it", we added a "-s" to end of the verb.
    • Adverbs of time go before the verb, except the verb "to be" (ser / estar). When "to be" used the verb goes before the adverb.
  2. PPRESENT CONTINOUS.

    • It is used for actions that are taking place at that time.
    • When we construct the present continuous we use the verb to be. Therefore we DO NOT USE auxiliaries do, does, don’t or doesn’t.
    • Use the “ing” form after the verb to be.
    • Besides there are structural differences - the present continuous is the verb "to be" as auxiliary and the "present participle"
