Will o Going to

  1. WILL

    • We use this auxiliary verb, whenever we talk about the possibility of doing something in the future.
      • In the case of Will, the negative follows this auxiliary verb and precedes the main verb. However, it is more common to use the short form of the negative auxiliary "won't". For example:
        • I will not play soccer this week. - I won't play soccer this week.
  2. GOING TO

    • When we use going to to form a phrase in the future, we must accompany it with the verb to be, like this:
      • In the negative case of going to, not goes after the verb to be, for example:
        • I am not going to be in the city on Saturday.
  3. Interrogative form

    • As with the negative form of the future, depending on whether we use will or going to as an auxiliary, the question is formed, for example:
      • Will she come with you?
      • Are they going to buy this house or that one?
