Polynomials
an expression of more than two algebraic terms, especially the sum of several terms that contain different powers of the same variable
Monomial
- A polynomial with just one term. Example: 3x2
Binomials
- A polynomial with two terms. Example: 3x2 + 2
Trinomial
- A polynomial with three terms. Example: 3x2 − 3y2 + 2
Degree
- the degree of a polynomial is the highest of the degrees of the polynomial's monomials (individual terms) with non-zero coefficients. The degree of a term is the sum of the exponents of the variables that appear in it, and thus is a non-negative integer.
Term
- A term is a single mathematical expression. It may be a single number (positive or negative), a single variable ( a letter ), several variables multiplied but never added or subtracted.
Algebraic Expresion
- Image result for algebraic expression Algebraic expressions include at least one variable and at least one operation (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
Constant
- a quantity or parameter that does not change its value whatever the value of the variables, under a given set of conditions.
Leading coefitient
- the coefficient of the term of highest degree in a given polynomial. ... 5 is the leading coefficient in 5x3 + 3x2 − 2x + 1.
