1. Black ABS which has good strength properties

   • The gloss finish is very easy to scratch which can make it unattractive
   • ABS is recyclable hence the product has been designed for safe disposal
   • ABS has good surface brightness to appeal to the user
   • Good insulator which prevents the device from heating up and burning on the outside
   • Electrical insulator as to ensure the device's circuitry doesn't get damaged

2. Poor external cooling with the lack of a primary exterior fan

   • The console is prone to overheating when placed in closed spaces
   • There is a small gap between the air vents but it's too small so dust collects in the slot
   • No dust filter on the inside which allows the inside to get very dusty

3. Lack of design for maintenance due to the torx head screws required

   • A torx head is seen as a specialist tool instead of a standard Phillips or flat head screwdriver. The warranty seals also need to be removed which voids the user's warranty

4. The case is injection moulded made from ABS. It has clear shelling to maintain structural support

   • Batch production can be completed with injection moulding using an automated production process

5. Lack of compatibility with Bluetooth headsets other than Sony ones, planned for sale complements

6. PS4 logo is clearly visible as part of their branding line

   • This helps their marketability as a customer can clearly identify the product

7. PS4 weights 2.8kg, making it portable and lightweight to carry around between rooms

   • PS4 Pro weights 3.3kg due to the hardware upgrades

8. The PS4 has many thermometers to prevent overheating, hence it will have a thermal shutdown point

9. The Blu-ray disc player removes the need for a DVD player to be connected to the TV

   • The PS interface has streaming software built in such as Netflix and Amazon Prime

10. The HDD is in a separate enclosure to prevent it from sliding around

11. All components are tightly packed with slight ventilation

12. Possibilities for water cooling

13. PS4 camera is a low in demand add on, not many games that use it

    • Can be introduced with VR to improve the gaming experience
