Constructing Personal Learning Environments through ICT

1. PLEs in Foreign Language Education

   • (PLE) is a learner- controlled environment for language learning. More specifically, it is a combination of tools (usually digital) and resources chosen by the learner to support different aspects of the learning process, from goal setting to materials selection to assessment.

2. Foreign language acquisition through ICT-mediated instruction

   • These features entail that classroom activities may be replaced or enriched by online learning

3. - Learning must be student-centred. - Work must be interdisciplinary and project-based. - Learning must be linked with reality. - There are multiple intelligences and different learning styles. - Learning should be comprehensive, permanent and meaningful

4. It aims to reveal the opportunities for creating PLEs through incorporating Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the process of foreign language education
