1. poverty

   • The area is horrible, on sidewalks, on every corner there are groups of criminals .. The whole avenue is, you can not walk down the street without being in your way to give a hit and steal.
     • Spent a lot of fear, especially evening / night. The last day we decided to walk a bit along the avenue looking for a supermarket or restaurant, but saw many criminals and vagabonds, electronics stores and second-hand .. One bakery three blocks 

2. eiffel tower

   • The Eiffel Tower is an iron construction of 300 meters high which was created for the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1889.

   • The Arc de Triomphe is next to the Eiffel Tower, the most representative of Paris monument. With dimensions of 50 meters high and a base of 45 by 22 meters, the Arc de Triomphe represents the victories of the French army under Napoleon.
     • The construction of the Arc de Triomphe lasted thirty years, Napoleon ordered its construction in 1806 at the end of the battle of Austerlitz and the Arch was completed during the reign of Louis- Philippe. The architect was Jean -François Chalgrin.

4. wars and revolts

   • Apparently the first settlers were a Celtic tribe that settled in the third century BC in the current islands of la Cite and Saint-Louis: the Parisii
     • These islands provided them subsistence and a natural defense against external aggression. The life of this group, known by gold coins minted, came to an end when the Romans decided to go to Gaul and occupied their city, Lucoticia. Parisii resisted the Roman invasion, but were defeated. Next, the Romans rebuilt Lucoticia, calling it Lutetia. They built walls, a great palace (now Palais de Justice), a circus (Arenas) and baths (Cluny), extending to the left bank of the Seine, which suggests the importance of this city to the Romans.

       • Paris is a city of fun, leisure and entertainment. The variety is immense and incalculable offer. The only problem is the timetable, a little different from the Spanish. Otherwise the fun goes from cinema and theater, to aquariums, theme parks (Disneyland Paris and Park Asterix).
